Obituary

Ola Bernice Mitchell-Grim, age 97 of Minden, La, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 31, 2023.
She born was in Taylor, Louisiana to the late Colbert and Fannie Mitchell on December 12, 1925. Ola
accepted Christ at an early age and united with Pine Grove Baptist Church of Taylor, Louisiana. During
her youth she attended the historical Coleman School and Webster High School located in Gibsland, La
and Minden, La respectively.

She married Lonnie Grim and to this union six children were born. Ola was a loving mother and
homemaker and spent many years in her later life caring for family members in her home. She loved
gardening and enjoyed planting flowers and trees to beautify the home she purchased in Minden, La.
After moving to Minden, she united with the St. Rest Baptist church and enjoyed attending the church’s
services and activities.

Ola was preceded by her husband, Lonnie Grim, two daughters, Diane Grim-Chaney and Linda Grim-
Travillion; two sons Lonnie and Larry Grim; six sisters: Mary Weatherton, Maggie Scott, Armmie Lennear,
Bertha Walker, Georgia Coleman, Ruth Scott; and three brothers: John T Mitchell, John W. Mitchell and
Willie Mitchell.

Ola is survived by her daughter, Norma Grim-Postel, son Michael Grim, sisters Jessie Jones and Emma
Tobin, and number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other loving relatives and close friends.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days and recognize the special
care that was provided by her grandchildren, Tuwuan Law, Shelton Jones, and Timothy Grim.
The funeral will be held at the St Rest Baptist Church, Minden, La. on Saturday, 15 April 2023 at 12pm. A
viewing will be held at the Doyle Funeral Home, Minden, La. on Friday, 14 April 2023 from 12pm to 5pm.
The burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ada-Taylor, La. A repast will follow immediately after the funeral at 731 Main Street, Minden, La.
